The Grape Region

You will not only find green grape vines in France, the grapes also ripen under the sun in our own Belgium.

This idyll is the perfect setting for a relaxing walk or a lovely bike ride.

So pack your hiking boots! You can then rent bicycles at the hotel.

You will stay in rural Overijse, in the middle of this beautiful region.

We don't have to tell you anymore that this is the ideal base for a fantastic weekend away in our own country.

The Sonian Forest is also nearby, so spotting some extra fauna and flora is certainly one of the options!

The Zoniën Forest

The Sonian Forest is located southeast of Brussels and covers no less than 4000 hectares!

The forest is sometimes called the green lung of Brussels.

In the area you can literally spend hours admiring the local fauna and flora.

You will discover several rare plants and about 40 species of mammals.

In the far east of the forest is the Geographic Arboretum which has over 450 different tree species!

You can visit the arboretum freely, but put your bicycle aside, because it is not allowed inside.

Royal Museum of Central Africa & Park of Tervuren

At a stone's throw from the busy Brussels Region you will find the Park of Tervuren – also called Warande.

It is one of the Flemish gateways to the Sonian Forest.

The monumental remains of a rich past give extra flair to this green oasis.

A walk among majestic oaks and beech trees, past elegant French gardens, ponds and flowerbeds is a relief after a day in bustling Brussels.

Walibi Amusement Park

Walibi, located just 10 minutes from the hotel, is one of the most popular amusement parks in Belgium. It has remained true to its tradition of being a family park with attractions for the little ones to unforgettable entertainment for the grown-ups. Get wet in the Radja River and Flash Back and get ready to shout at the Cobra, the Dalton Terror, the Vampire and many more attractions. An unforgettable day ahead!

Dode Beemde

In the Doode Bemde you can walk along the naturally meandering Dijle.

With its nine kilometers of hiking trails, De Doode Bemde is one of the most accessible nature reserves in Flemish Brabant.

There are two walking loops through the nature reserve: the southern loop = red arrows and the northern loop = blue arrows). A boardwalk helps visitors cross the wettest parts of the reserve.

On the domain of the nature reserve there are two bird hides and who knows, you may find the tracks of the beaver.

The walking routes take you through more than 250 hectares of nature reserve. It is a mosaic of small fields, poplar plantations and copses, meadows and hayfields, reed beds, ponds and canals

La Hulpe Castle

The Sonian Forest is also the right place for culture.

In the farm of the Château de La Hulpe you can view more than 500 works by the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon.
